The Reverend Jeff Smith looks at the history of the celebration, the different type of experiences we as humans can go through, how to make each and every experience something enriching to our lives, how making a "reverse bucket list" can help make you a happier person, and the Rev shares his personal viewpoint on the importance of learning from all our experiences, not just the good ones!

April 1st, 2018 - April Fools Day/Easter

Although he's been called away for another Sunday morning event, he's left a brand-new show for everyone, focusing on the two holidays that share the 1st of April in 2018. He'll talk a little about the history of April Fools Day, and then the rest of the program is about Easter, including traditions from various countries around the world, the pagan origins of the holiday, why you shouldn't adopt a bunny for Easter (unless you're REALLY committed to taking care of him or her and making that rabbit a permanent part of your family), and he'll be sharing some thoughts on Easter as a modern holiday as well!

Join the Reverend Jeff Smtih as he explores the import of the day, the connection between theatre and life according to Will Shakespeare, how music and drama collide in "on-camera theatre" (aka Film), the specific benefits theatre brings to everyone it touches, and the Reverend expresses how much theatre has molded him into the person he is today!

March 18th, 2018 - International Day of Happiness

Tuesday, March 20th, is the International Day of Happiness. This Day was introduced by the General Assembly of the United Nations during 2012 and was celebrated for the first time in 2013. As the Reverend, Jeff Smith, says, "Now, we could go all fluffy and just do a completely brainless, feel-good show about this topic, but I think you deserve better than that, and I hope that you long-time listeners have come to expect more than that from me as well. We're going to talk about happiness from a scientific standpoint, discuss one of the newest areas of psychology related to happiness, examine some deliberate choices you can make to become consciously happier as a person, and I'll share some of my thoughts on the role of happiness in life at the end."

March 11th, 2018 - Stopping the School Shooting Epidemic

Join the Reverend Jeff Smith as he reveals what it's like when the school shooting epidemic in the United States comes home. On March 2nd, 2018, Central Michigan University, where the Rev teaches, was one of the latest sites of gun-related violence in the nation, necessitating today's program. He'll talk about the incident, look at the history of the 2nd Amendment as well as the history of the National Rifle Association, and he'll offer his advice on how to work through this recurring issue in pursuit of an answer to the question "How do we make this stop."
