Long before the invention of the World Wide Web, when instant communication was a dream and a postal letter was actually considered a pretty speedy way to communicate (outside of the phone), there were a group of pioneers who were working on a dream of world-wide communication, and anticipating the joy of communicating with people all over the world instantly. This Day was introduced by the General Assembly of the United Nations during 2012 and was celebrated for the first time in 2013. As the Reverend, Jeff Smith, says, "Now, we could go all fluffy and just do a completely brainless, feel-good show about this topic, but I think you deserve better than that, and I hope that you long-time listeners have come to expect more than that from me as well. We're going to talk about happiness from a scientific standpoint, discuss one of the newest areas of psychology related to happiness, examine some deliberate choices you can make to become consciously happier as a person, and I'll share some of my thoughts on the role of happiness in life at the end."
