March 17th is the day known as St. Patrick's Day, but our modern celebration of the day has little to do with its origins! The Reverend will discuss the day and how it's going to be a different kind of celebration this year, how the symbols used to denote the day are a fusion of Irish and American culture, how the modern observance of the day is really more American and Irish, some of the many elements of American life that were brought to our shores by the Irish across the centuries, and the Rev'll explain how his own awareness and celebration of St. Patrick's Day has changed from when he was a child.
